Section 7.20

Subd 1.  The City Council shall have authority to restrict the character and weight of traffic upon any of the streets of the City of Tracy, when in its judgment such traffic will destroy or excessively damage such street or streets or will unduly interfere with the use of the streets by other motor vehicles.

 

Subd 2.  Such traffic restriction shall become effective upon the posting of plainly printed notices stating the character and weight of traffic prohibited on the restricted street.  Said notices shall be posted at both ends of the section of the street upon which traffic is restricted, and shall be posted at such intermediate points of cross streets to effectively warn traffic of the restriction imposed.

 

Subd 3.  The restrictions of the character and weight of traffic upon the streets or portions thereof shall remain effective until the said notices are removed by order of the City Council.

 

Subd 4.  It is a misdemeanor for any person to violate any of the provisions of this Section.
